It seems my company had audit and my employer was asked to submit client letters for all employees.
Q's is will it have any impact on 485 process for the employees in case of any issues in the company in other areas ?

Does anyone know what email / letter(s) one should get when the GC is approved ?
I received this email two days ago:
On November 13, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.
Does this constitute as a GC approval ?
I read in other threads that a "card ordered" email follows the GC approval but I haven't received the email (nor the physical card yet).
Does it normally take 1 or more weeks for the physical card to arrive after approval ?
Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Congratulations on crossing the greencard hurdle. You have been a member since March 2006 and have been participating in this struggle. You have also endured a long wait since Aug 2001. If you have not yet contributed pls do not forget to contribute some money to IV. It will help keep this struggle alive and help other members waiting in line.

I did my masters in US and have got my H1 B status which expires next year. Had a few question. Just to add to my situation i have not got my H1 stamping done on my passport.

Thing is inspite of these recommendations they reverted the July bulletin with no notice period to public. Not sure why they recommend and have the office Of Ombudsman if USCIS does not implement their recommendation?

I have an old H1B visa with approval date December 19, 2000. I moved to US in Jan 2001 and spend only 2 months in USA in total. Stay outside USA from Mar 2001 until now.
Can I apply for the remaining time against my initial six-year period of admission and will be exempted from the cap?
If you are out of country for more than a year, your 6 year starts over.

Does the "Receipt Rule" apply if an approved EAD is lost in email and a replacement EAD is applied for. The documentation mentions that it is valid to accept the EAD receipt for upto 90 days after joining date or for 90 days after reverification(which I presume happens after the current EAD expires)

Hello,
I spoke to my lawyer today and she made it very clear that it is ILLEGAL to file more than one I-485 for one applicant (from 2 diff companies). USCIS will immediately ask you to make a choice.
THought I should share this information
yes, thats because when filing I-485 you are 'promising' to join that company when you get your GC. How can you promise that to two companies at the same time.
However could you ask about being primary applicant on one petition and secondary on another (cases where both spouses are working, they can file two AOS and if either spouse decides to stop working for some reason the other application continues, the first can be withdrawn). This one is a grey area. Not illegal, but apparently at some point USCIS will ask you to pick one of the two. In this current mess where some companies/lawyers are promising to file, but may not do so in the end, better to give both choices a good shot, and hope atleast one gets through.

Doing a AR11/Change of address, do I include all these as additional applications
1. MTR number
2. Appeal number
3. Original 485 (denied) for primary applicant

Guys,
AILF is seeking plantiffs. Please show some spine & courage. If your employment history and everything on your green card file is clean, volunteer for becoming plantiff. I have a gap in employment otherwise I would have surely volunteered.
Thought AILF already has enough plaintiffs - this was last week's news. Anything changed or they just looking to add more plaintiffs?
It would be good if someone with a compelling story comes forward (I have a normal story but still i will check with my company/attorney if there are any objections if I join as plaintiff).

Hi All,
I need to travel urgently to India due to some family issue and my EAD is expiring in Aug 2010. I need to apply for my renewal before I fly out this Sunday since I will have to be in India for 30 days. Can I e file my application from here and send the supporting documentation by Saturday? If so, I want to make sure that if for some reason, I get a biometrics appt., while in India, how can I postpone it? and also there won't be any issues with my EAD renewal app since I will be India and My I 94 will change once I am back.

I think it should be OK!
-> i guess there is a provision to delay your FP if it arrives for any reason, any of your representative here can scan and let u see the contents , there will be a phone to call and postpone.
-> if you are C9 category ( 485 in EB category ) , you donot need i94 number , you need alien number.

You can port to a new employer after your 485 has been pending for six months (from the date USCIS recieved your application). See IV threads on portability for more information.

That's why you get up at 4:30! My friends make fun of me for that... The successive ridgelines in the fog make for a real feeling of depth. I've tried that technique a few times, but never pulled it off this well. I also like the aspect ratio you chose, it contributes to the 3-D, receeding-to-a-point, effect. The color here is likewise very nice. The only thing I would say could be better is that the sun is distorted by the cloudline. It would be better if totally obscured, or better resolved. In any case, you can't control the clouds. Super shot.
