Hi, I keep seeing people referring to their cover letter when they applied for green card.
I am applying for GC through marriage, (i-130 + I485). Is a cover letter required or recommended? What information should it contain??
Thank you so much!

I guess USCIS is sending Receipt Notes according to priority dates meaning with 2006-7 priority dates will get receipts later.
My 485 reached on 2nd july...No Update yet.
Can I ask any one get RN with priority date later than 2006?

Indian-born Karan Kler is the executive director of the Coachella Valley Immigration Service and Assistance Inc., a nonprofit immigration counseling agency in Palm Springs, California. My friend Dan Kowalski forwarded me a really nice article on Karan's journey from an influential business and military family in India to heading a non-profit agency assisting immigrants in need.

Hello All,
I just looked thru couple pages on this forum to see if there is already a thread on this question but didn't quite get to see it.
I got into the I-485 queue during July-07 VB fiasco. My applications reached USCIS before the Aug-07 fee revision, so I paid fees according to the old schedule.
However, I did apply for extension last year in March-2009 and paid the new fee ($305), got the documents and even travelled last year and came back into US using the AP.
Now it's time for renewal again, and I'm wondering if I'll have to pay the fee perennially annually?
Thanks
Raghu
P.S: In the I-131 instructions, on page 8, there is a note regarding fee which talks about no fee if I-485 was filed after July 31, 2007. Mine was filed after July 31st, but with the old fee structure.

This is commendable and also an interesting development because it means that the pro-immigration community is essentially saying that it is necessary to allow one group to receive an important immigration benefit out of lockstep with comprehensive immigration reform. Of course, the circumstances are extreme and allowing Haitians in the US - those here legally and illegally - the ability to stay and work here in order to help their country on its long road to recovery is crucial. Incidentally, the anti-immigrants at FAIR issued an interesting press release today showing their great humanity. They want to grant TPS to...

Ooops... I posted my reply to the pic in the gallery! To reiterate here, I love this photo... the only distracting aspect is the deteriorating wall in the shadows on the left. I played with some creative cloning and removed it and quite liked the results. Other than that, the color, symetry and lighting all come together in a really compelling way. It's one of my personal favorites!
