Hi hydubadi,
I am aslo in same situation ... FNU and Pending 485.
My attorney says... just write a letter after chaning the name in passport. Mine is a name split issue.
My old passport has Last Name = Last Name + First NAme and First NAme = Blank and visa etc it is FNU
I got my H1B visa inside the US and when I went to the consulate, the lady refused to stamp my visa. I had to go to the passport office and get an "observation" that my name should be read as
First Name : "FirstName"
Last Name : "LastName"

I have just called all the Representatives mentioned in the above thread and conveyed the message. Similar experience, nice people (I am sure they are supposed to be nice, as they would take calls from voters!!), I also heard similar responses saying they have been getting many calls.

I was wondering if anyone here who had a canadian PR (i.e. did a landing), got GC later has travelled again to Canada again?
We got canadian PR in 2005 and did a landing while we were waiting for our GC. We got a our GC last year and are planning to visit canada using our GC. Are there going to be any issue in entering canada?
Also, we travelled to India last year and received new I-94 when we got back into US using AP. Very soon (days) we received our GC's. I am not sure what do with these I-94's when we leave US. Do we still need to surrender these as in the past?
For some grilling by both CBP in the US and also their Canadian counterpart. You should've surrendered the Canadian PR or US GC based on where you wanted to live permanently. It's not illegal to be a PR of both countries, but if the Canadians know and if you've claimed any sort of health insurance in Canada, they'll send you a bill for it. All this is not to scare you, but first hand experience of my cousin who lives on the border and works for a Detroit based company.

I have similar issue, I have applied for the EAD renewal on May 18th and received the notice on May 24th. My EAD is expiring on August 18th, and still have not heard back from USCIS. I have called the USCIS on July 26th and opened a service request, but it got rejected asking me to wait for 90 business days. What are my options ?
a. Can I still keep working?
b. Should I quit my job?
c. Can I take unpaid vacation?
Please help...

My comany is filing a second LC under PERM for a substantially different job position and job location.
My first LC ( PD Oct 2004) was filed in TR. My LC is "in Process" at PBEC. No I-140 yet. I am from India
The question is: Once the PERM LC gets approved, and I140 ( second LC) approved, can the first PD ( Oct 2004) PD be retained??

pls quote the exact sentences of your rejection letter here. we need to know a reason for your rejection.
ask your lawyer or find out exactly what they screwed up.

- is your lawyer a company lawyer or your lawyer
- what is the status of your company--- big/small/ many h1b/ what about others in your company on LC applications..etc
- did the comapny do ads? do you have the material or copy of everything that was sent?
- is your company making profits. how many employees?
- eb2 or eb3
- has anyone been rejected before in your company?
- how much time do you have on h1b

I live in Fishers (126st), but work on West side of Indy (US 36 road towards Avon).
I will make it next time for sure. I am not familiar with Carmel roads, but after yesterday's confusion, i have got some idea.
