My case is also similar.
Applied labor in 2002 under Eb3 category
I-140 approved in 2006.
Applied labor in 2007 under EB2 category( same Company)
Applied I-140 Eb2 and requested to port EB3 Priority date.
I-140 got approved but did not port EB3 priority date.
Applied I-485 in 2007 using eb3 labor and I-140.
As of now I have two approved I-140 Eb3 PD 2002 and EB2 PD 2007.
My attroney sent SR last month to port priority date on EB2 I-140.
I see LUD on I-140 and I-485 ( LUD on oct 9th 2009) .
Still waiting for response.
I don't know how long USCIS will take to port PD.

Sounds like, they are considering your SR, but time gap is just a week, so atleast one or two weeks to go i guess.

1. Yes. Most countries need 6 months validity on passport from the date of entry. Some countries are exempt from this rule.
The US Embassy has this pre-requiste of 6 months validity when applying for US Visa but I have no knowledge of any document mentioning this 6 months validity requirement at the US POE. Can you please point me to some source?
2. Usually you keep the same I94.
3. Not necessarily. But be prepared to answer questions. If you are unable to prove your intention to be permanently residing in US, upon US GC, that can be an issue.

I thought the same about the officer . Now , am in the second category..Have an H1 but my i94 is on H4 stamping ..I hold an Indian passport , do you know if i should get the H1 stamping (first time stamping) in India or can i conveniently get it done in Canada?
So what I understand is that your I 797 (H1 approval) does not have attached I94 at the bottom.
If that is the case, you have two options:
1. File for Change of status with USCIS and then they will send you new I 797 with attached I 94. (you will need your attorney to do this for you).
2. Get H1 stamped on the passport (peferably in India as this is your first H1 stamping).
After that you can get your SS card.

Hello I opened 2 SRs 4 weeks ago. Yesterday I got two notices from USCIS.
My wife got finger printing notice but my notice says that "USCIS will notify me of biometrics when the appointment is available". Its so weird. I'm the prime applicant. Anybody any ideas? My lawyer said wait for 1 month. I spoke to USCIS customer service and they said wait for next month and open another SR.
My case was filed at NSC , then went to CSC and then transferred to NSC.
Anybody any ideas? Have they heard of cases where dependants are getting FP while Primary is waiting.

Today is a great day in IV history!
We filed our AOS last week (EB3 PD Jan 2007). My wife is currently pregnant and so she could not take all the vaccinations that are required in the medicals. She did the other required medicals though.
My question: Will this cause our applications to be denied? OR will they allow my wife to get the shots after our baby is born?
Anyone with experience please help.

As long as you can submit your wife's pregnency certificate, you are OK. Besides, since your case will take at least 5 years to get the approval, you don't need to bother about RFEs.:-)

I’ve successfully e-filed my renewal and got the approval for both EAD and AP in just two weeks. It’s really a good system.
My case is little different though – When I entered US this time, I had H1 approval but not the stamping in my passport (didn’t want to go through the stamping hassle), so I used my AP at the port of entry.
When I renewed my EAD and AP online, I mentioned, “I entered using AP” and my current status is “H1”. There were no queries, and got the approval.
