Hello,
I am really having sleepless nights over this, thinking obsessively over and over.
Here is my situation:
I am working for a consulting company A since Feb 2003, and they filed for my GC in May 2003 in Ohio for a position. Even though I been working for the same company, I am working for a different position in California, and I never worked for the position in OHIO that is on GC Labor.
Now, its been two years I filed my 485, got EAD and everything. After 180 days of 485, my employer asked me to work on EAD (to avoid extending H-1). So now I am officially on EAD and used AP once.
At this time, my contract is coming to an end, can I look for another full time in CA area and use Ac-21 to port.? Is there any issue because even though I am working for the sponsoring employer, but not for the position on GC labor?
Or shall I not file AC-21, take a different job and come back to the sponsoring employer and work for that position upon GC approval? Or is that out of question because I already used EAD that means automatic invocation of AC-21?
Please suggest. Thanks

I have a green card and I'm thinking about living 50/50 in US and my home country Slovakia.
I've had GC for about 6 years and been living quite a travelling life spending more time outside US then in. Its also about 50/50 with trips always around 10mo in or out.My continuous residency is broken.
Do you think that if i live 50/50 in and out for five years they will give me citizenship with such history?
Got GC after Mom.
Thank you very much for effort. It will help a lot in deciding where my life will go from here.
If you spend more than 180 days a year in the U.S (total of 2.5 years in the 5 years preceding to the application) and show ties to the U.S (a house, tax returns, family etc). If so, it should not be a problem. The U.S ties come into picture only when you are out of the U.S for a extended period of time (like in your current case). Good luck.

Applied for AP/EAD/485 in July 07.....I know that I can invoke AC21 after 180 days and change jobs.....My question is ,
1. If I travel to India before the 180 days and use the AP when I return, is it like invoking AC21 before 180 days ?
2. what are the consequences of using AP within 180 days after filing for 485 ?
3. Is AP and AC21 related ? [brother, sister , cousin :) ]
Thanks.
1. No.
2. None.
3. No.
AC21 changes the sponsoring employer on your green card petition (the one that you plan to work for upon final approval).

I saw this and got online to try and reach out to the desi founder requesting him to consider also piloting this in India considering rural India is still in desperate need of energy development to help improve the basic infrastructure and lifestyle. Could not find a way to connect.

I thought this will be a useful information to everyone.
My Case,
04/18/2008 -Applied EAD online
06/19/2008 -Status changes to "Approved" but no Notice sent.
07/20/2008 -Waited for 30 Days and called USCIS to open a Service Request.
07/24/2008 - Received EAD at home.
08/26/2008 - Received the letter from USCIS saying we have sent you the card but never received back or delivered to you hence concluding it is considered lost and if you need it, Please file for EAD again.
I called USCIS, Customer server rep said take an Infopass appointment to make sure it is valid.
Took the appointment, went USCIS on 09/10/2008.
Officer takes a look and tells me "Obviuosly you have EAD in your possession and unless you made it up on a color Laser printer, It is my fault that I have provided wrong information to USCIS and not waited for 30 days as I should have and I am there to pick up a fight with USCIS,bla bla bbla"
I remained very calm knowing he does not like his job but have to do it.
He is rude and clueless at the most why I am there. My first experience with USCIS, I dont think I want to go to their office again.
Finally conclusion he tell me "Once EAD is issued it remains VALID until you notify USCIS that it is lost or stolen or tempered with, USCIS DOES NOT take any proactive actions on EADs that are issued. Hence NO action is neccessary at this time"
Moral of Story is DO NOT go to USCIS if you receive such type of letter from USCIS after opening a service request for EAD.
I wasted a good amount of time and money just to take this BS.
Thanks
I hope this helps.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Defense (DOD) today announced that National Guard deployments to the Southwest border will begin on Aug. 1 as part of the administrations unprecedented efforts to combat the transnational criminal organizations that smuggle weapons, cash and people across our Southwest border. The President has also requested $600 million in supplemental funds for enhanced border protection and law enforcement activities, which are critical to our ongoing efforts.
Over the past year and a half, this administration has pursued a new border security strategy with an unprecedented sense of urgency, making historic investments in personnel, technology and infrastructure, said Secretary Napolitano. These troops will provide direct support to federal law enforcement officers and agents working in high-risk areas to disrupt criminal organizations seeking to move people and goods illegally across the Southwest border.
In May, the President authorized the deployment of up to an additional 1,200 National Guard troops to the Southwest border to provide support for intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance, and counternarcotics enforcementproviding support for one year as part of the administrations unprecedented efforts to crack down on transnational smuggling and cartel violence, as CBP continues to recruit and train additional officers and agents to serve on the Southwest border. In deploying these personnel, the National Guard Bureau is operating under a request for assistance from DHS. Border security is a law enforcement mission, and these troops will augment the Administration's efforts to crack down on the drug cartels and transnational criminal organizations that operate along our Southwest border.

I think your numbers are correct.
Did you know that more than 1 million green cards were issued in 2009 and less than 60,000 went to actual high skilled immigrants??

Hi,
I don't have direct personal experience with those particular lenses, however as a general rule suplementary lenses can be designed to give sharper results if they are designed to go in front of a particular lens. (the Nikon suplementary wide angle is probably slightly sharper) If it were me I would try the lenses I already have to see if the results I got from either or both were adequate for my personal purposes before I shelled out more bucks to change them. Even if they are terribly unsharp you may find that the exact look of the unsharpness is apealing in your images.
as far as a UV filter goes it is usualy a very subtle difference in the look of the images, unless you have a habit of destroying the front element of your lenses. If that were the case it could save you the cost of replaceing scratched lenses. Personaly I just make it a habit to keep my fingers off of the front of the glass, and so far in the last 30 or so years I haven't needed to keep a UV or skylight filter on my lenses.
