Hi,
I am a july 21 filer and received I-485 notices on Sept 26. I am required to join my job on Oct 8 and i want to use the EAD for that.
My question is, if i see the status as "card ordered" before Oct 8, then can i call USCIS to get the EAD number before joining the job. OR does the employer need to be shown the EAD card before joining.
It looks like it is taking 1 week from notice date to see the status change to "Card Ordered" and another 7-10 days or more to get the card.

Thanks fromnaija, do you know if it's going to take the same amount of time the get the corrected EAD or is it going to be longer than regular time, I know it depends on the service center and the processing dates, but just curious if you happen to know any such cases and the time USCIS took to process them.
I hope I don't need attorney's help in this as I have been renewing EAD since 2004 myself.

FATCA establishes a MINIMUM penalty of $10,000 for failure to report foreign ASSETS over $50,000 on your tax return. FATCA filing is required in addition to FBAR filing. Who ever filed FBAR, please be aware of this new law from next year onwards , since the penalty is so high.

Recieved by USCIS on 06/29/2007. our lawyer recently got our reciept nos. my husband got a notice saying FP fee rejected and has been asked to re submit the fee,when, in fact all our checks have already been cashed.all of my notices say case recieved and pending.my question is ,with my husband's case in suspense, will my application be also with held or will USCIS go ahead with my application. Isn't husband Important than job or EAD? :) Both of you will be fine. Just get a copy of bank statement with cashed checks from your bank, talk to USCIS customer care and send it to them if required as proof of payment.

My case is filed in EB-2 although I am eligible to apply in EB-1.
When I filed, there was no retrogression for India, and so it made no sense to apply in EB-1.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
My PD is Dec 2004

There is a small but noticeable difference in quality going from 6MP to 10MP. Since I went from 2.7MP to 10MP, I haven't experienced this first hand, but I'm told that the extra 4MP generally allow you to print about one size larger than you felt comfortable with before (hence, if you only accepted 11x14's from 6MP images, then with the 10MP photos you'll probably be happy with 16x20's).

I am on AOS and currently working on my EAD. If I lose the job and employer terminates the health insurance, then will I qualify for the COBRA coverage or is it strictly for the Greencard/citizens? Any info is greatly helpful.

I recently found a new job and they filed for my H1 transfer in premium processing. I am still working for my old employer. Now I have got an RFE questioning why my salary (in 2009 W2) which is less than what was mentioned in my previous petition. Even though I have all my paystubs I was on bench for few months between march - may 2009. I have a leave letter for 4 weeks vacation in may and my salary was reduced when I got new project. Which explains why it is less but may not be enough to prove it to USCIS. Salary in W2 could also be less that prevailing wage. Right now I have following scenarios
1. WIthdraw application - not sure repurcussion of this.
2. Respond to RFE with mentioned reason which can have following outcomes
a) Appoved - (good i will be more than happy)
b) Approved with consular processing - (I dont want to travel at this point of time outside US)
c) denied - (not sure)
3. This case goes to DOL and there may be investigation or indent of revoke sent to my employer. Can this happen?
Here are my questions
1. Senario 2.b. If I get "Approved with consular processing" do I have to travel to India for stamping immediately or just get new I94? What will be my current status then? What if I decide not to join the new employer?
2. Senario 2.c. If I get "Denied" what will be my current status?
3. What should I do so that I am not out of status and I dont have to travel to India for stamping?
4. Scenario 3, Can this happen?
Any response will be appreciated. Thanks!
