Can some body advise what is the best way to send money to India using SBI online?
Do i have to have an account with SBI? NRE/NRO/Regular
I have an account with State Bank of Bikarner and Jaipur, can i send money from my US account into SBBJ and then to SBI (parents account) ONLINE?
I live in Colorado and hence do not have the luxury of walking into an SBI US branch.
Any advise is appreciated.

Unless your parents have SSN, you can't really claim exemption. .
This is not true.
I have claimed my parents as dependents when they visited me a year ago for about 5 months.
When you submit your tax returns to IRS, at that time they apply for ITIN (if they don't have one) for the parents. That what I did....however, I went thru a CPA.

you cannot apply for an H4 until your waiver is complete
does not matter how long you are on a J1, once you get one, you are a marked man.
similarly there is no question of filing a 485, even if you could file it there cannot be an approval till the waiver is done, likely will be rejected.
do please ask an attorney though.

From my experience, Crows are black everywhere. Unless you join non-desi company. it is hard to find desi company who keeps everything in black n white.
Best bet is to try to workout something with you present company.

I did B.E in Computer Science Engg, 4 yrs Course.
I have no idea why USCIS gave that reason. Actually, my company's attorney told that "USCIS denied H1B, because i don't have Computers background and am working as a Programmer Analyst".
That's all i know at this moment. I don't know whom to trust at this point.
There should have been an evaluation of your degree by some "expert" here certifying that your degree is equivalent to a 4-year degree in CS here. I remember my first H1 petition had such an attachment.
Check with your lawyers quickly. Also, do whatever you can to protect your status. If you get some illegal status on your records now, it will be a nightmare when you apply for a GC. Then they will check all your entry/exit dates.

It's illegal to work without authorization from DHS. Penalty if detected is deportation from the US.
Better consult a lawyer and not rely on opinion from an open forum in this case.

my story is something like dhirajs98 but i dont know if he had the biometries done or not but we got the biometries, fingerprinting done but now my online status says that they mailed me a decision for i140 and i485, but does it mean a denial, please respond.

Same situation...applied for extension...got approval but the new I-94 date is not when my Old I-94 (expiring in june 2009 due to passport expiry I have a visa till October 2009) is expiring but I got the dates according to my Old I-797 expiry(October 2009). All my H1B extension forms says that I need an approval from June but they gave me from October. What should I do :confused:? My attorney said that its USCIS mistake so you should not worry about it and that are trying to correct it. Can some one please tell me how to approach this and how long it will take before I can get a correct approval. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I wonder why he did not say they should be screened for their skin color, their Shakespearean English and BTW all the applications of legal residents and naturalized Citizens here who are non Europeans ought to be revisited to ensure they fit the new criteria. This guy is unbelievably anti-immigrant. Even many anti-immigrants feel he is too far to their right on this issue. Him in the house and Sen. Jeff Sessions in the Senate cannot be changed. They are rather openly vile, vicious and virulent in their attack of any and all immigrants.............legal or illegal. That is why they are given so much airtime on CNN with Lou Dobbs.
The real irony of it all to me is that the ancestors of many of the Mexicans (albeit illegal) immigrants crossing the southern border are indigenous people of the Americas (the new world) like Mayans and Aztecs (atleast in part). His (Tancredo's) predecessors on the other hand are "invaders" like he terms todays immigrants. I wish one day his kind of people who seem like they feel America is their divine gift from god get asked this question in a public forum.

Consular processing is way faster is what I was told.
I heard one case in my company (person worked for my employer prior to I joined) who successfully did consular processing. He got his GC almost 2 to 3 years ahead of his co-worker who both filed labor at the same time. The only difference is: one person chose to do consular processing and other one (who was delayed by 2 - 3 years) opted for adjustment of status.
I was told this by my other co-workers after I joined this company however I too never thought of consular processing as it is something not familer to me. I do not know much details how this whole process works. If anyone knows, please share with rest of us.:confused:

goel I know that, I have already done that twice in previous stampings at Canada. Each time I went a day before to the Scotia branch prior to my appointment. What concerns me is this statement.

My appointment is for Sept 8. To pay MRV fee prior to Sept 1, I need to be physically in Canada at a Scotia bank branch before Sept 1. Today it is Aug 20, and I still havent gotten my passport back in mail yet with Canadian visa stamped on it. My scheduled arrival in Canada is Sept 7 so I can take care of Scotia bank receipt prior to appointment. But their statement says, the fee needs to be paid prior to Sept 1.
See my point?

So I will automatically get a 3 year extension when I do the H1B transfer to the new company? Is that because I have a I-140 approval already? I guess I need to show that and the PERM copy. Correct?

We didnot file MTR. As per my lawyer, MTR takes around 2-3 months and if in case MTR gets denied then the total time (from the date of denial) will considered as illegal and it will create more problems. I also went along with my wife to chennai embassy(both H1 and H4 renwal ), they just asked me my paystubs and about my company . they didnot ask my wife any questions.
