Ok, this thread is getting weird. Seriously, the BBW fetish thing grosses me out. It did back before I was in shape/thin and it still does now. There's nothing wrong with a little excess baby fat on a girl, that's cute. I'm talking 130-135 lbs on a girl that should weight 110. But as soon as cellulite/stretch marks/unnatural creases show up, it's game over.

Michael Phelps consumes 13000 calories/day, but he's a world-class athlete, not a world-class cow.
That's of course on days he's training. Event days, he probably needs less because he'll spend most of his time sitting and waiting for results/his turn. On days in his jammies on the couch resting, he's probably around a 2500 for metabolism because of his muscle mass.
It's important for anyone to figure out their base metabolism and to figure out how much they burn depending on what activities they do. That's how you maintain your weight. You can eat anything and everything, fat/sugar/alcohol, just as long as you keep your calories in check to not go over what you spend. That way your weight won't change, though if not eating right all the time, you'll have deficiencies in vitamins/fibers/proteins which your body needs and you'll just end up being hungry because these calorie dense foods are not filling at all.
Hence why there's no such thing as a "diet". Just eat right, indulge reasonably in any of the comfort foods you need, make sure calories in = calories out, and you're set for a healthy weight. There's no magic pill or magic recipe to it.

"Cross-dresser" means someone who primarily identifies as one gender, but occasionally dresses as the other gender. Yes, it is possible to have a transgender cross-dresser, someone who primarily identifies as the opposite of their birth gender, but occasionally dresses as their birth gender.
I have no problem with "regular" cross-dressers. But if they identify as their birth gender the majority of the time, they should use their birth gender-labeled restroom. If they identify as the opposite gender the majority of the time, even if they are still physically their birth gender, then I don't have a problem with them using their identified-as restroom.

They won't do it because the competition wouldn't give them scree at a decent rate. LG, or Sony are hardly going to turn around and give them screens at a rate which would mean competition to their own products.

I hate being a party popper but this is exactly the same hype when Firewire was first released. I hope TB won't suffer a similar fate and end up being the port used only by a small segment of the market because of price and availability issues. TB is just too fantastic and I really want it to succeed but as you guys all know, its not the best tech that becomes the most successful and dominant.
Wouldn't matter anyway if you were using a ThunderBolt external hard drive. Very few mechanical hard drives can even reach 1Gbps-2Gbps. You'll need several of the fastest SSDs in RAID to even reach ThunderBolt speeds.
USB 3.0 FTW. More practical.
If TB can I/O data from a platter drive as fast as an internal SATA II/III connection that would still be a significant improvement versus the current external hard drive connection speeds we have today.

Anyone feel confident buying a white one given the problems they've had getting one made?
If they hadn't solved the problems, I'm not so sure they'd release it at all at this point.

Then you could just open the new brochure wizard. Set it up for four quadrants per page, front and back printing. Place your images & text in the proper quadrant in the proper orientation.

Bah, these things are rubbish. The scroll wheel clogs up with dirt, just as scroll ball mice did in days gone by - except there is no user access to clean it thoroughly. Apple need to re-think the design on this one before updating it.
Why fix this problem now? Surely they will make more money if they bring out a bluetooth version with all the flaws of the wired version, and then next year bring out the new improved version with a solid state scroll pad, independent side buttons, ability to press the middle button while holding down the left button (ie. to drag an object between applications, with my old M$ mouse I would click and hold on a picture, press the scroll wheel to change applications, then drop the picture into iTunes - can't be done with the Mighty mouses single click mechanism).

Whoever has been saying that any of the future Mobile Me + Cloud stuff would be free is probably just projecting wishful thinking anyway.
Apple's Cloud is a natural extension of Mobile Me, but I don't have any fantasies that any of it will be free -- and as an Apple Stockholder, I would be upset if Apple was spending all that money "out of the goodness of their hearts" ... they need to continue to GROW and that means the costs should not only be recovered, but would hopefully be a source of at least a little margin.

Mmm .. no. The reason you don't see it much is because XP SP2 is pretty rock solid as far as operating systems go.
Well, it is better than previous versions of windows. Both are reasons you don't see it as much.
My pc used to crash fairly often, and it was often when it was just sitting there and I wasn't even using it. Based on the number of times it happened when I was around, I can only imagine how many times it happened and I was unaware.

white iphone is ugly late and unnecessary so apple can keep it.. they never made it cause demand was always lower for white ones and the white design look worse on iphone 4 than on 3gs..
I guess it's just a matter of preference. I personally think the white iPhone 4 is gorgeous, while my white 3g always reminded me of an Oreo cookie.
And it seems like the demand for the white one has been pretty high since they unveiled it last year. Not to mention they have produced white iPad 2's which seem to be pretty popular.

UNO has massively improved Tiger by banishing the metal and aqua stripes.
Also, the sidebar is a retrograde step too. The drawer in Preview can be resized without changing the size of the content in the main window. You can't do that with a sidebar. It's also white, unlike Mail's light blue. Wrong, wrong, bad, ugly, inconsistent and stupid.
They seem to be throwing out good UI design and entire elements of OSX just for the sake of something new to show.
Amen! And Apple deserves to have their very own HIG Book thrown at them. It's like the different application teams are working in relative isolation. I can see the Preview folks saying "Hey, the Mail team had some extra hours for their UI guys and came up with this new look! Cool, let's use it next time around so we can be cool, too. Oh, and we'll change that blue area to white for our own flair." The drawer UI element was one of those things touted as a novel and useful feature of OS X, way back in the DP and 10.0 days, but it's been a steady march away from common UI elements since then.
Back to the toolbar for a moment, has anyone seen or made a mockup of what a window would look like with the "unified" appearance combined with more traditional toolbar icons (not outlined by buttons / ovals)?

Yeah, after all if you buy a coffee there u have to sign a waiver of responsibility for burns, then reply YES three times to the cashier asking "Are you sure you want to buy this potentially scalding-hot coffee?" ... but what's it matter, thanks to people not wanting to take responsibility we can't buy coffee above 82 degrees fahrenheit. lol

nothing has even been released yet. why does a cloud have to run across multiple geographic locations? as long as it's online in the cloud it doesn't matter where it is.
It'll be a pathetic excuse for a cloud if it'll only stream in the US (which if they continue with this 1 datacenter model will be the case). Amazon will beat them here, hands down. Have you seen how many datacenters they have?
