:) Even if USCIS says that they cant predict future cut-off dates, its not going to slow down the prediction-pundits on IV. Soon we'll have a thread out for December Visa Bulletin prediction!!
I vaguely remember a big guy from uscis presenting a awafully hopeless picture on forward movement (just before june/luly 09), there was a generous spill over in sep09 and dates moved forward (hopefully neverto go back). I donot believe what these non serious guys say. Let us hope for the best.

Go to Calcutta and visit Missionaries of Charity. Donate some of your dollars there for a good cause.
Then go to Bombay Dharavi slums.
Then go to villages in India and live with poor.
Your family will understand the reality of this world and become better human beings with you. Or they will think Andhra is a country and Andhrites are the only people in this world. It is typical of some Indians who only care and mix with their own state. (Begalis, Andhra, Marathi to name a few). India is declining due to such people who do not believe in being an Indian.

CIS has really outdone itself this time
The CIS has a long and dishonorable history. They have done many unconscionable things in their past, as individuals and as an institution. They are rife with corruption and incompetence. They willfully refuse to follow the law. Their latest stunt, however, tops anything they have done before.
According to the CIS Ombudsman, the CIS has wasted more than half a million employment based immigrant visas in the last decade. A few years ago, they reserved a huge block of EB immigrant visa numbers with the excuse that they were going to use them to close out a large number of backlogged adjustment of status applications. The result was that the Visa Office had to suddenly retrogress Visa Bulletin cutoff dates. The CIS, of course, didn�t close out even a small fraction of the cases they said they were going to close and tens of thousands of visa numbers were irretrievably lost. Cynical minds believe that they did this deliberately to force a retrogression and stop the filing of additional applications.
This year, determined to prevent the further waste of visa numbers, the Visa Office advanced cutoff dates so that as many EB immigrant visas as possible could be issued before the end of the fiscal year. A few months earlier, the CIS Ombudsman warned that CIS incompetence and inability to reduce adjustment of status backlogs would likely result in the irrevocable loss of at least 40,000 EB immigrant visa numbers.
The CIS was said to be very upset by the Visa Office action. They fumed and stomped and finally came up with a plan. This past weekend, they brought in the entire staff of the NSC and TSC and had them pull files. They pulled more than 60,000 pending adjustment of status files and then ordered visa numbers for all of them. Understand, many (most) of these files were missing background security check results and can not be closed. It didn�t matter, the CIS has no intention of closing them, they just wanted to find enough files to order all of the remaining visa numbers and force a retrogression of cutoff dates. This is why the Visa Office had to issue the update yesterday, announcing that there were no more EB visa numbers available for the remainder of the fiscal year.
By law, the CIS must return all visa numbers they have not used within seven days. Don�t hold your breath waiting for that to happen.
Consider the effort the CIS put into their scheme to frustrate the plans of thousands of intending applicants. How much overtime pay will the taxpayers have to fork over for this? Worse, I very seriously doubt that we will see more than a few cases actually closed. They will have gone through this entire expensive effort for no reason other than to show that they are capable of throwing an institutional tempter tantrum. At the end of the day, they will again have irrevocably wasted tens of thousands of EB immigrant visa numbers and pushed visa cutoff days back even further.
And people wonder why we have an immigration problem.

My husband and my EAD and AP renewal time is approaching. We were thinking to do it ourselves but we don't know how to do it.

a) Is there E- renewals? What about photographs for such renewals?
b) What documents are required for renewing?

It means that when a petitioner applies for H1B extension - they (beneficiary and petitioner) must at the time of filing H1B establish/prove that the alien is not eligible for GC at the time of filing of H1B due to per country visa cap (not many visas available for the country the individual belongs or is claiming GC under).
Q17: How will USCIS interpret the language of AC21 Sec 104(c) (for three-year H-1B extensions) during a period in which AOS applications could be filed?
A17. Actually it is 3 seperate images all of which are .png images with transparency, all which use A/S. You are right though, they are small images and it is a small flash movie. I guess with something bigger it wouldn't be a good idea.

my problem with these hearings is that they play soccer with the interests of immigrants. There are pro and anti immigrant views in discussion.
Enforcement is all about closing the borders and deporting immigrants. But why do we not see hearings to discuss and introduce bills that fine the employers and put them in jail if they hire an undocumented? But nobody, not even the anti-immigrant groups are pushing for such a bill. A lot of undocumented problem will be solved if employers cannot hire undocumented. We call immigrants as illegal, but why can't we use the same standard for employers who illegally hire undocumented?
Secondly when they talk about legalization, there is no country limits for them. But as soon as we talk about removing country limits in front of the same people, we hear talks about diversity etc.
Overall immigration is more about politics, votes than actually solving a problem. If these folks are serious about fixing a problem, a lt could have been done till now. We need to hear more action than just talk.

If you get approval for EB2 I-140, it won't change your eligibility for AOS. I am not sure if you will be able to port priority date. If you worry too much, you can ask employer to withdraw EB2 I-140 application. My hunch is that EB3 with 2001 PD will get approved earlier than EB2.

Whats the point of donating after you get your Green card? Donate now in place of later and you can benefit from your own donation...and IV can get that money sooner :)

I think you are in H1 status now. When your Passport is stamped with H4 then your status will be changed to H4. If you want to work again then you need to change again to H1 with change of status

I 485 � Filed in Jul 2007, Receipt date Jul 02, 2007. Have copy of I 485 receipt.
Perm Labor � Have perm labor approval copy.
Since it has been more than 180 days I 485 is pending and I 140 also approved, I joined my client. Now my old employer says he will withdraw my I 140.
I would like to send AC21 job change info to USCIS my self.
Please let me know if any one is in the same situation and filed (informed) AC21 by yourself.
And also advice if anyone used new attorney only for AC21.

I think they would have excluded it since the EB2 ROW is current and there is no need to establish a cut-off date.
